Operating system

See Which macOS versions are supported? and Which Windows versions are supported? below.

PostgreSQL

  • Minimum: PostgreSQL 9.6 or greater.
  • Recommended: latest 64-bit PostgreSQL 16.

Which macOS versions are supported?

PokerTracker supports the macOS versions that Apple's latest Xcode can build for; when Apple drops a version, so does PokerTracker.

PokerTracker currently supports macOS 11–15 and the latest macOS release (macOS 26 Tahoe), in line with Xcode 26 supporting macOS 11 (Big Sur) and newer.

See Apple Developer — Xcode Support for current details.

Which Windows versions are supported?

PokerTracker supports Windows Home and Pro editions while Microsoft is still issuing security updates, plus one additional year after Microsoft ends updates.

PokerTracker currently supports Windows 10 22H2 (Home and Pro editions) and all newer Windows versions still receiving Microsoft security updates. Microsoft provides updates for Windows 10 22H2 through October 14, 2025; PokerTracker continues support through October 14, 2026.

See the Microsoft Windows Lifecycle FAQ for official timelines.

What is PostgreSQL and is it required to use PokerTracker 4?

PostgreSQL is an open-source database server that is free to use. It is not owned by Max Value Software, LLC and no Max Value Software / PokerTracker employee has been involved in PostgreSQL coding or development. Learn more at postgresql.org.

Yes — PostgreSQL is required, and PokerTracker 4 installs it automatically. All your hands and statistics are stored there for later retrieval. For more detail, see What is PostgreSQL?.

What is my PostgreSQL password?

Your password was selected during the initial PostgreSQL installation. Common defaults:

  • dbpass
  • postgres
  • postgrespass

If the password is forgotten or none of the defaults work, you can configure PostgreSQL not to require a password for local connections — see PostgreSQL troubleshooting.
